Trevor Tyler tied for first in the 400-meter dash and placed third in the 200-meter dash at the 2012 MIAA Field Day.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior sprinter Trevor Tyler, of Roscommon, is the Comet of the Week honors for April 30-May 6.
Tyler tied for first-place in the 400-meter dash at the 2012 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. His time in the finals was 49.02 seconds after running faster during the preliminaries at 48.32 seconds. Tyler also placed third in the 200-meter dash at 22.22 seconds, which was only .01 seconds slower than the school record. He also ran the first leg of the second-place 4x100-meter relay and the anchor leg of the fourth-place 4x400-meter relay.
Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week each week during the 2011-12 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcomets.com.
