OLIVET, Mich. – Thirty-eight women participated in the first-ever Olivet College Lady Comet Football Clinic took place Friday, Aug. 3 at The Cutler Event Center. The majority of the participants were the mother of an Olivet football player.
The clinic started with each introductions of the Comet football coaching staff. Each member of the staff introduced himself and gave a little background of his coaching. After that, everyone went out to the football field.
The coaches then had the participants go through a series of stretches and warm-up drills to get ready for the next part of the clinic. There were five position stations (linebackers, wide receivers, defensive line, running backs/quarterbacks and defensive backs) where they learned information on that position and its importance in the game of football.
The evening wrapped-up with a session inside The Cutler Event Center. The women received a tour of the center, and then shown the preparations that are done by the coaches and football players before a game.
The coaching staff has already begun plans for the Second Annual Lady Comet Football Clinic next August!
