Olivet College’s Small named MIAA Co-Player of the Week

OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Garner Small (Schoolcraft) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Co-Player of the Week for men's basketball. He is sharing the honor with Scott Rogers from Trine (Ind.) University.

Small helped the Comets win two non-conference games last week, averaging 25 points, five rebounds and 4.5 assists. He scored 24 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists in Olivet's 83-80 win Nov. 20 at Union (Ky.) College. Small then added a team-leading 26 points, including four 3-pointers, in a 69-60 win over Purdue University Calumet (Ind.) Nov. 24 at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet. For the week, he made 20-of-34 (58.8 percent) baskets, including 46.7 percent from three-point territory.

Olivet is off until next Tuesday, Dec. 4, when it travels to play Spring Arbor University at 7 p.m.
