OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Adam Wright (South End, England/Walled Lake Western) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer.
Wright helped the Comets win two MIAA games last week, which allowed them to take over sole possession of first-place in the league standings with a perfect 5-0 record. He set-up the scoring opportunities in a 2-1 overtime win over Hope College Sept. 27 and then scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at previously unbeaten Trine (Ind.) University Oct. 1. The goal was the second game-winning tally of the season for Wright.
Olivet hosts second-place Calvin College in an important MIAA contest Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Comets then wrap-up the first half of their league schedule Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. game at Adrian College.
