Olivet’s Werner-Hoskins named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week
Olivet College freshman forward Cory Werner-Hoskins has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College freshman forward Cory Werner-Hoskins (Kalamazoo/Mattawan) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer.
Werner-Hoskins scored a goal in each of his first two collegiate games, as the Comets posted a 1-0-1 record to start the 2012 campaign. He scored Olivet's last goal in a 4-0 win over Franklin (Ind.) College and then scored the game-tying goal with just under three minutes left in regulation in a 1-1 draw against Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology.
The Comets will play two non-conference games this week. On Wednesday, they will travel to play Spring Arbor University at 7 p.m., and on Saturday, they host Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University in their home-opener at 3 p.m.
