Olivet College’s 400 freestyle relay breaks school record, earns HM All-American honors
The Olivet College men’s 400 freestyle relay team of Brian Fiorillo, Mike Harden, Ben Aldrich and Austin Munn finished in 15th-place to earn honorable mention All-American honors. They stopped the clock at a school-record time of 3:04.81.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Olivet College men's 400 freestyle relay team of sophomore Brian Fiorillo (Southgate/ Anderson), senior Mike Harden (St. Johns), sophomore Ben Aldrich (DeWitt/St. Johns) and senior Austin Munn (Pinckney) finished in 15th-place to earn honorable mention All-American honors tonight at the 2012 NCAA Division III National Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The relay stopped the clocked at a school-record time of 3:04.81, with the previous record being 3:05.00. Virtue of the finish, they also made school history by being the first-ever relay to score points and earn All-American honors at a national championships meet. The splits for Olivet's four swimmers were nearly identical, as Fiorillo led off at 45.99 seconds, followed by Harden (46.23), Aldrich (46.32) and Munn (46.27).
This morning, Fiorillo also swam in the 100 freestyle preliminaries and tied for the 34th fastest time at 46.09 seconds.
