Six Olivet College softball players named NFCA Scholar-Athletes
Six Olivet College softball players have been named NFCA Scholar-Athletes for the 2010-11 academic year. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the entire academic year to qualify for the award.
OLIVET, Mich. – Six Olivet College softball players have been named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athletes for the 2010-11 academic year. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the entire academic year to qualify for the award.
Being honored are Rachel Cook (Traverse City/Central), Brooke Coshow (Niles/Brandywine), Katie Harper (Vassar), Lauren Lenard (Dimondale/Lansing Catholic), Lindsey Maas (Pinckney) and Nicole Wernette (Remus/Chippewa Hills). Harper earned the honor for the fourth consecutive year, while Nicole Wernette is a three-time honoree.
The Comets will open the 2012 season March 10-18 at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.
