Seventy-five Olivet College student-athletes have been named to the 2011-12 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honor roll.
Five Olivet College teams have received the 2011-12 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team GPA award. This award is presented to conference teams who achieve a 3.300 or better grade point average for the entire academic year.
Three Olivet College women’s golfers -- Lauren Campbell (Fenton), Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) and Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) have been named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team.
The Olivet College women’s golf team tied Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College for first-place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Playoff round #3 today at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. The Olivet College women’s golf team won the Hope College Spring Invitational today at The Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck. The Comets carded a 332 team score to beat runner-up Aquinas College by 20 strokes. Hope and Calvin tied for third-place with 356.

The tournament featured 10 schools, including the No. 21 Comets, ranked in the most recent National Golf Coaches Association poll.

With a first-place finish at the two-day MIAA Tournament, the Olivet College women’s golf team has secured the 2011 MIAA Championship! The title is the fourth in school history for the Comets and the first since 2006-2008 when they won back-to-back-to-back league championships.
Three Olivet College women’s golfers, senior Lauren Campbell, and sophomores Theresa Damico and Adrienne Jones have earned 2011 All-MIAA first-team honors. In addition, Campbell was named the MIAA’s Most Valuable Golfer and received the MIAA’s Sportsmanship award.
