Second round of Anderson Invitational wiped out because of rain, Olivet ties for second
Due to heavy rains in Indiana, the second round of the Anderson (Ind.) University has been wiped out. As a result, only Saturday's first round will officially count and the Olivet College women’s golf team has tied conference rival Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College for second-place (out of seven teams).
ANDERSON, Ind. – Due to heavy rains in Indiana, the second round of the Anderson (Ind.) University has been wiped out. As a result, only Saturday's first round will officially count and the Olivet College women's golf team has tied conference rival Saint Mary's (Ind.) College for second-place (out of seven teams).
The Comets and Belles posted 323 team scores. DePauw (Ind.) University shot a 303 to win the team championships.
Juniors Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) and Adrienne Plourde (Redford/Thurston) each shot a 78 in Saturday's only round. Freshman Brooke Kastamo (Howell/Hartland) finished with an 81, while junior Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) carded an 86. Freshman Kirstin Langer (Battle Creek/Pennfield) recorded a 93.
The Comets will host their own invitational Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7-8, at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. Friday's round has a 2 p.m. shotgun start, while Saturday's round is a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
