Women’s golfers in fifth-place after round one of IWU Fall Classic
The Olivet College women’s golf team is in fifth-place (out of 22 schools) after the first round of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill. Tomorrow’s second round features a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
NORMAL, Ill. – The Olivet College women's golf team is in fifth-place (out of 22 schools) after the first round of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill. Tomorrow's second round features a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The Comets have posted a 322 team score and are only stroke ahead of sixth-place North Central (Ill.) College. Wittenberg (Ohio) University and William Woods (Mo.) University are tied for first-place with 309s, followed by Rhodes (Tenn.) College in third at 315 and the host Titans in fourth at 318.
Junior Adrienne Plourde (Redford/Thurston) is part of a tie for seventh in the player standings with a 76. Junior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) is one stroke behind at 77. Junior Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) completed her round in 83 strokes. Freshmen Brooke Kastamo (Howell/Hartland) and Casey Lamp (Kalamazoo/Hackett Catholic) are separated by one stroke at 86 and 87, respectively.
After tomorrow's round, Olivet will begin defense of its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship when it hosts the first league jamboree next Thursday, Sept. 20, at The Medalist Golf Club.
