OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Golfer of the Week honors for a second straight week.
Damico was the medalist at both MIAA jamborees last week. She set a course record with an even par 72 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall Sept. 18, and followed that up with a four-over par 76 at the Pine River Country Club in Alma Sept. 22. Damico's scores helped Olivet take first at both jamborees and open a 28-stroke lead in the overall standings.
"Theresa is playing great right now," said Olivet Head Coach Bill Maas. "It is pretty special to win two jamborees in a season but to win them back-to-back while setting course records is just awesome. She has earned it and works hard every day. Theresa is focused and improving."
Olivet will travel to South Bend, Ind., Wednesday to participate in the third league jamboree at the Blackthorn Golf Course.
