Olivet College’s Damico selected MIAA Women’s Golfer of the Week
Olivet College junior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women’s Golfer of the Week for the third time this season and fourth time in her career.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Golfer of the Week for the third time this season and fourth time in her career.
Under difficult weather conditions, Damico earned medalist honors with a five-over par 77 Oct. 6 at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian. She was the only golfer to shoot a score in the 70s, with her score helping the Comets maintain first-place in the overall MIAA standings over Hope College. In addition, Damico has been the medalist at three of four jamborees this fall and sits in first-place in the league standings with a 77.3 stroke average over the four rounds.
Olivet will participate in the final two MIAA rounds Friday and Saturday at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. Friday's round starts at 1 p.m., while Saturday's round gets under way at 10 a.m.
