Women’s golf team moves into tie for 12th-place at NCAA DIII National Championships
Despite shooting a 345 team score in today’s second round, the Olivet College women’s golf team has moved into a tie for 12th-place at the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championships on the Baytowne Golf Club and inside the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Fla.
DESTIN, Fla. – Despite shooting a 345 team score in today's second round, the Olivet College women's golf team has moved into a tie for 12th-place at the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championships on the Baytowne Golf Club and inside the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Fla.
Combined with yesterday's 336 first-round score, the Comets have a two-round total of 681 strokes. Middlebury (Vt.) College and St. Olaf (Minn.) College also have the same 681 two-day score. University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) and University of Texas at Tyler share first-place in the team standings with 617s.
In today's round, junior Adrienne Plourde matched her first round total with an 84. Freshman Brooke Kastamo was one stroke behind with an 85. Juniors Theresa Damico and Ashley Stark both carded an 88. Freshman Casey Lamp finished with a 90.
Damico has a two-round total of 167 strokes. Plourde is just a stroke behind at 168. Lamp has a 172, followed by Kastamo at 176 and Stark at 188.
Olivet will begin the third round tomorrow morning at 8:20 a.m., with Stark teeing off first, with Kastamo, Lamp, Plourde and Damico to follow in 10-minute intervals. The NCAA is providing a live leaderboard at http://www.golfstatresults.com/public/index.cfm?tournament_id=4428.
