Sinacola named assistant women’s soccer coach at Olivet College

OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College Head Coach Hans Morgan has announced the appointment of Lauren Sinacola as an assistant women's soccer coach. She begins her duties immediately.

"I am extremely excited to be able to add Lauren to our staff," said Morgan. "She is going to be a great asset to our program. Her playing and coaching background speak for themselves and I can not wait to begin working with her."

Sinacola has spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Michigan State University (MSU) under Tom Saxton. She also coaches in the TNT Dynamite Soccer Club, out of Lansing. Sinacola serves as the head coach of the TNT 13 Girls White and TNT 15 Girls White teams.

"I am very excited to get started with Hans and the girls," said Sinacola. "I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and working toward a winning season and possibly a championship title."

She earned a bachelor's degree in communications and is working on a master's degree in sports administration from MSU. As an undergraduate student, Sinacola was a four-year starting midfielder for the Spartans. As a freshman in 2006, she was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team and Great Lakes Region All-Freshman team. In 2008, Sinacola led the Big Ten with 11 assists and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors. Her senior season (2009) was cut short due to an injury at the beginning of conference play. Despite that, Sinacola landed a spot on the All-Region team. She finished her career with 12 goals and 21 assists for 45 points.

"We are excited Lauren is moving on to a position at Olivet," said Saxton. "She did an outstanding job as our volunteer assistant the past two years and we're definitely going to miss her. We have high regard for Coach Hans Morgan and the Olivet women's soccer program and we are confident Lauren will be a valuable addition to his staff."

Sinacola enjoyed a well decorated high school career at Rochester Adams High School and with the Vardar and Michigan Hawks club teams.
