Women’s swimming team falls to Kalamazoo, 189-93
The Olivet College women’s swimming team was defeated by Kalamazoo College, 189-93, today at the Upton Center Pool in Olivet.
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's swimming team was defeated by Kalamazoo College, 189-93, today at the Upton Center Pool in Olivet.
The Comets won three individual events and one relay. Individual winners were sophomore Alivia Hammond (Byron Center) in the 100 backstroke, 1:05.60; freshman Jazmin Johnson (Grand Rapids/Northview) in the 100 freestyle, :55.88; and senior Caitlin Lohr (Holland/Hamilton) in the 50 freestyle, :24.55.
Lohr and Johnson then teamed with senior Jessica Howard (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and junior Jana Blodgett (Sturgis) for a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. Their time was 1:42.08.
Olivet will close out the dual meet portion of its schedule next Saturday, Jan. 28, when it swims at Calvin College. Action gets started at 1 p.m. from the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids.
