ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team fell to Alma College, 7-2, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match this afternoon at the Superior Street Tennis Complex in Alma.
The Comets won one match each in doubles and singles play. Junior Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek/Pennfield) and senior Kelsey Singer (Brooklyn/Columbia Central) teamed together for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. LaValley posted a straight set win (6-2, 6-3) at No. 1 singles. Seniors Jenna Baker (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and Jordy Bergeron (Muskegon/Mona Shores) lost a tough 9-7 pro-set at No. 2 doubles.
Olivet hosts Hope College tomorrow afternoon. First serve at the MSU Tennis Facility in East Lansing is 4:30 p.m.
