Olivet College’s Wegener named MIAA Field Athlete of the Week
Olivet College junior Sara Wegener (Lansing/Lansing Catholic) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Athlete of the Week for women’s track and field.

OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Sara Wegener (Lansing/Lansing Catholic) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Athlete of the Week for women's track and field. She is being honored for a second time in her career.
Wegener won three field events, as the Comets opened the outdoor portion of the 2013 schedule at the Dick Small Invitational, hosted by Defiance (Ohio) College. She took first-place in the hammer throw with a school-record toss of 134 feet, 2 inches. Wegener also won the discus with a throw of 119 feet, 1 inch and the shot put with a toss of 37 feet, 11-1/4 inches.
Olivet will travel to Adrian College Saturday to participate in the All-American Invitational.
