DELAWARE, Ohio – Senior Bryan Carney won his fourth game of the season to help The University of Olivet baseball team split a non-league doubleheader against Ohio Wesleyan University today at Littick Field.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Comets scored two runs in the second inning on RBI-singles by seniors Nick Stokan and Tyler Duncan. Olivet added to its lead in the fifth when senior Braden Abbott hit an RBI-double. The Battling Bishops scored their lone run in the sixth inning.
- Senior Bryan Carney threw eight innings to earn the win. He gave up three hits, while striking out 11 and walking one on 107 pitches. Junior Logan Lewis picked-up his fourth save of the season.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Ohio Wesleyan scored two runs in the first inning and four more runs in the second to take a 6-0 lead. Abbott hit a home run to lead off the eighth inning for the Comets. Olivet added its final run in the ninth inning on an RBI-single by freshman Mario Ricard.
- The Comets tallied eight hits. Senior Brody Parten was 2-for-3 with two singles. He also walked twice. Junior Austin Wittrock was the losing pitcher, as he surrendered six runs on seven hits. Freshman Dawson Sherman tossed six scoreless innings of relief.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Carney has 218 career strikeouts to rank second all-time in UOlivet history. The record is 260 by Chris Gumper from 1993-96.
- Lewis' four saves are tied for the third-most in a season in UOlivet history. The record is six by Chip Cook during the 1995 season.
