This week’s Dean Trailways Co-Male Comets of the Week are junior Noah Bailey, of Lenox, and graduate of Anchor Bay High School, and sophomore Max Daust, of East Lansing, and graduate of East Lansing High School. Bailey won both the long and triple jump at the Albion Triangular, with both performances being ranked No. 1 in the MIAA this spring and top 15 on the NCAA Division III Performance List. His 23 feet, 5-1/4 inch mark in the long jump broke the longest-standing school outdoor track & field record. Karl Wilson previously set the record in 1968. Bailey also ran the anchor leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay.
Daust threw a complete game, eight-hitter to lead the baseball team to a 5-2 win over Trine (Ind.) University. The win snapped a 10-game losing streak for the Comets. The only two runs Daust allowed were unearned, and he struck out six and walked two batters.
