Baseball team loses to Wesley, 4-3, in 12 innings
The Olivet College baseball team fell to Wesley (Del.) College, 4-3, in 12 innings this afternoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Comets end their Spring Break trip with a 6-2 record.

Wesley scored one run in the first inning and two more in the second inning. Olivet forced extra innings by scoring a run in the seventh frame.
For the game, the Comets had 10 hits, including three by sophomore Scott Purdy (Traverse City/West). He had a pair of singles and a double, while driving in one run. Senior Nate Rann (Laingsburg) collected two hits.
On the mound, senior Brad Dragicevich (Kalamazoo/Central) pitched the first seven innings. He allowed 12 hits and three earned runs, while walking one and striking out one. Sophomore Steven Oginsky (New Lothrop) pitched four scoreless innings and struck out six batters. Senior Derek Ott (Kawkawlin) was tagged with the loss. He got only one out before the winning run crossed the plate.
Olivet will now idle until Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25, when it plays a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association series against Kalamazoo College. Saturday's doubleheader will be played at Kalamazoo, while Sunday's doubleheader will be played in Olivet. Both doubleheaders will get under way at 1 p.m.
