Softball team loses two games at Saint Mary’s
The Olivet College softball team was swept in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader by Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College this afternoon at the SMC Softball Field in Notre Dame, Ind. The Belles won the opener, 13-0, before taking the nightcap, 11-0.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Olivet College softball team was swept in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader by Saint Mary's (Ind.) College this afternoon at the SMC Softball Field in Notre Dame, Ind. The Belles won the opener, 13-0, before taking the nightcap, 11-0.
In game one, Saint Mary's scored five runs in the first inning, three runs in the second inning and five runs in the third inning. The Comets were held to only one hit, a double by senior Alison Iuelle to leadoff the game and a single by junior Terri Hurosky in the fourth inning.
In game two, the Belles plated one run in the third before busting the game open with an eight-run fourth inning and capping their scoring with two runs in the fifth. Olivet was limited to a single by senior Ciara Santos in the fourth. Iuelle reached base safely in two of her three plate appearances.
The Comets will take the beginning of the week off for spring semester final exams and then return to the field Friday afternoon for a doubleheader at Adrian College, starting at 3:30 p.m.
