Women’s tennis team ends spring break trip with 7-2 win over Wooster
The Olivet College women’s tennis team ended its spring break trip with a 7-2 win over the College of Wooster (Ohio) today at the Port Royal Racquet Club in Hilton Head, S.C. With the win, Olivet has a 6-0 overall record.

The Comets got things started with an 8-1 pro-set victory for the No. 1 duo of freshman Giana Guerra (Lansing/Waverly) and senior Jaclyn Mummaw (Buchanan). The No. 2 duo of junior Celeste Gruber (South Haven) and freshman Kelsey Singer (Brooklyn/Columbia Central) lost just two games in an 8-2 pro-set win. The No. 3 duo of sophomore Leanne Scudder (St. Joseph/Lakeshore) and freshman Paige Sedgewick (Lennon/Powers Catholic) hung for a 9-7 pro-set victory.
Olivet took the team victory with wins in 4-of-6 singles flights. Winning were Guerra at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1), Gruber at No. 3 (6-2, 6-2), Singer at No. 4 (6-3, 6-3) and Scudder at No. 5 (6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5)).
The Comets are back in action next Wednesday, March 18, when they host Calvin College in their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener
