Women’s volleyball team wins two matches at “Buc Blast”

BELOIT, Wis. – The Olivet College volleyball team defeated North Central (Minn.) University and Rockford (Ill.) University at the Beloit (Wis.) College "Buc Blast" and inside the Flood Arena in Beloit, Wisconsin. With the wins, the Comets complete their opening weekend of play with a perfect 4-0 record.

  • Emma Middendorf topped the team with six kills.
  • Bekah Parker had a match-high 19 set assists.
  • Maddie Stocker dug up a 13 balls.

  • Olivet tallied 31 kills and a .265 attack percentage.
  • Prince led the way with 10 kills.
  • Notenbaum tallied nine kills, a .533 hitting percentage and 16 set assists.
  • Freshman Abigail Pray contributed 10 set assists.
  • Mundt contributed a match-high 16 digs.

  • Rockford had 27 kills but had a .092 attack percentage.
  • Maddison Hiland and Emily Johannes each recorded eight kills.
  • Casey Sheetz collected 15 set assists.
  • Paige Carpenter finished with 11 digs.

  • Olivet participates in the 2018 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Preview Tournament next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7-8, at Calvin College. The Comets face Alma and Saint Mary's (Ind.) on Friday, and Trine (Ind.) and the host Knights on Saturday. Friday's matches are at 5 and 7 p.m., and Saturday's matches are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
