Bio
You played football, basketball and baseball for Olivet, earning
three varsity letters in each sport. You also earned a letter as a
member of the track team in 1958.
As a member of the football team in 1955, you led the MIAA and the
state of Michigan in total catches. You were named a co-captain for
the football team during your senior year.
You were also a co-captain during your senior season of
basketball. In 1958, you were the baseball team’s leading
hitter and also ranked second in the MIAA.
Off the athletic field, you were a member of the Kappa Sigma Alpha
fraternity.
In addition to your bachelor’s degree from Olivet, you have
a master’s degree in secondary administration from Michigan
State University.
Prior to your retirement in 1988, you taught and coached various
sports at Gull Lake, Yale, Bangor, Holland West Ottawa and Shelby
high schools. You also officiated football, basketball, baseball
and track at the high school level along with basketball and
baseball at the collegiate level for 32 years.
Olivet honors you and is proud to induct you into the Olivet
College Athletic Hall of Fame on this 29th day of September,
2007.
