Bio
You were a four-year letterwinner on the men’s basketball team and a member of Olivet’s three MIAA Championship teams in 1971, 1972 and 1973. You earned All-MIAA First Team honors in 1974. That year, you served as the captain and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.
You ended your Olivet career with 897 points, 523 rebounds and 194 assists. The 523 rebounds still ranks ninth all-time at Olivet.
After graduating from Olivet, you earned a Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University in 1978. Upon graduation, you began practicing optometry in Charlotte. Four years later, you started your own private practice in Spring Lake. You left your own practice in 2011 to work as a staff optometrist at Shoreline Vision until retiring from the field in December 2015.
You are also involved in all the communities you have lived in. Those activities include being a member of the Jaycees, Rotary and Spring Lake Public Schools Board of Education. You also coached varsity boys’ basketball for 30 years.
Olivet honors you and is proud to induct you into The University of Olivet Athletic Hall of Fame on this 4th day of October, 2024.
