Playing three varsity sports -- football, baseball, and basketball
-- in his sophomore year he led the baseball team in RBI’s
with a batting average of .382. This contributed to his election to
the All-MIAA first team. In basketball, as a senior he established
a new Olivet scoring career mark of 1042 points. He made
significant contributions by starting every game for all four
years. In 1956 he was given All-MIAA Honorable Mention and in
1956-57 he was voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates. Both
his records and his spirit will long endure in the sports arena at
Olivet.
