Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - April 12, 2021

This week’s Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is junior Lillian Albaugh, of Shepherd, and graduate of Farwell High School. Competing for the first time this spring, Albaugh won the shot put at the Albion College Spring Thaw. Her winning mark of 38 feet, 7 inches was more than three feet further than the runner-up finisher. Albaugh also finished fourth in the javelin (91’8”), sixth in the discus throw (107’3”) and 10th in the hammer throw (96’10”).

This week’s Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is senior Nicholas Hoffman, of Fenton, and graduate of Hartland High School. Hoffman averaged 76.0 strokes over three MIAA rounds for the men’s golf team. His scores for the week were a 77 at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive, 79 at the Duck Lake Country Club in Albion and 72 at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana. The 72 at Zollner placed him in a tie for fourth-place in the player standings.
