Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - October 11, 2021

The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is Kennedy Ellis, of Alpena, and graduate of Alpena High School. Ellis led the women’s golf team at the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Fall Final. She posted a two-round total of 169 strokes, including a season-best 82 in the first round, to place 21st among 52 golfers.

The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is Brendan Sine, of Charlotte, and graduate of Charlotte High School. In the football team’s game against Trine (Ind.) University, Sine booted a 76-yard punt to break the school record for longest punt. The previous record was 74 yards by Jon Rice against Albion (October 17, 1964) and Pat Koepfer against Adrian (October 12, 1985). In addition, the 76-yard punt ties for the third-longest punt by an NCAA Division III punter and ranks in the top 25 of the longest punts among all NCAA punters during the 2021 season.
