Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - October 18, 2021
The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is Seth Kading, of Solana Beach, California, and graduate of Santa Fe Christian High School. In his first collegiate meet, Kading aided the men’s swimming and diving team to a 133-60 win over Aquinas College in its first dual of the season. Individually, he won the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.68) and 100-yard backstroke (58.58). Kading also led off the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:45.53) and posted a 22.67 second split in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is Jennifer Mann, of Orange, California, and graduate of Villa Park High School. Mann helped the women’s swimming and diving team defeat Aquinas College, 104-70, in its season-opening dual meet. She won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a pool-record time of 10:54.12, and also took first-place in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:17.81. Mann also swam the fastest breaststroke split (32.33) in leading Olivet to a first-place time of 2:00.54 in the 200-yard medley relay and anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay with the fastest split (25.74).
