Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - October 25, 2021

For a second straight week, the Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is Jennifer Mann, of Orange, California, and graduate of Villa Park High School. Mann won two individual events in the swimming team’s dual meet against Hope College. She touched first in a pool-record time of 1:57.42 in the 200-yard freestyle and later in the meet, she won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:28.42. Mann also had the fastest breaststroke split, 31.92 seconds, in the 200-yard medley relay, and led off the 200-yard freestyle relay with the fastest split at 25.35 seconds.

The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is Gavin Sutton, of Mason, and graduate of Mason High School. Sutton swept the diving competitions in Olivet’s dual meet against Hope College. He totaled 231.50 points on the one-meter board and 248.15 points on the three-meter board. Sutton’s score on the three-meter ranks sixth all-time at Olivet for a six-dive program.
