Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - April 4, 2022 - Part 1 of 2

The first Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is sophomore Kai Hartman, of Riverdale, Iowa, and graduate of Pleasant Valley High School. Hartman broke Olivet’s single-match record with 26 kills in a four-set win over Wabash (Ind.) College. The 26 kills also helped the Comets break the team single-match record with 64 kills. In three matches played last week, Hartman totaled 51 kills to give him 166 for the 2022 season.

The second Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is sophomore Everett Haynes, of Chicago, Illinois, and graduate of Gwendolyn Brooks Preparatory Academy. Haynes posted an Olivet single-match record with 56 set assists in a four-set win over Wabash (Ind.) College. The 56 assists also aided the Comets to a team single-match record with 60 assists. In three matches played last week, Haynes recorded 104 assists to give him 469 for the 2022 season. The 469 assists are the second-most in school history for a single season.
