Comets of the Week - February 10, 2025
The Co-Comet of the Week is senior London Eldridge, of Stanton, and graduate of Central Montcalm High School. Eldridge placed sixth in both the 60-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash at the Trine (Ind.) University / Mrs. G Invitational. Her time in the 60-meter hurdles (9.63) was a personal best, which is also third-fastest in UOlivet history. Eldridge completed the 200-mter dash in 27.56 seconds. In addition, she posted a season-best time of 8.52 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash.
The Co-Comet of the Week is senior Kody Krupp, of Chesaning, and graduate of New Lothrop High School. Wrestling at 197 pounds, Krupp started Olivet’s dual match against Albion College with a first-period pin at two minutes and nine seconds. The pin propelled the Comets to a 26-19 win over the Britons. Krupp entered the match rank No. 5 in the NWCA Region 5 poll, while his opponent was ranked No. 4.
The Co-Comet of the Week is senior Nathan Richardson, of Flint, and graduate of Grand Blanc High School. Last week, Richardson averaged 25.5 points in helping the men’s basketball team win two road games and move into a tie for third-place in the MIAA standings. He started the week with 27 points in a 74-73 win over Adrian College and ended the week with 24 points in a 79-73 win over Albion College. For the week, Richardson made 18-of-34 baskets (52.9 percent), with three from behind the arc, and 12-of-17 free throws (70.6 percent). He also had 11 rebounds and six assists, while committing only four turnovers in 74 minutes.
