Comets of the Week - February 17, 2025

The Male Comet of the Week is senior Benyamin Kamali, of Lansing, and graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School. Kamali started the Comets’ dual match against Adrian College with a 10-2 win over Adrian Rosas. He scored a takedown in the final seconds of the match to give him the major decision vicrory. Kamali entered the dual ranked No. 10 at 125 pounds in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll, while Rosas was ranked No. 15. The win helped Olivet win the dual match, 24-15 and secure the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship.

The Female Comet of the Week is senior Emily Norkowski, of Fife Lake, and graduate of Forest Area High School. Norkowski broke her own UOlivet indoor triple jump record at the Grand Valley State University / Big Meet. The 34 foot, 8-1/2 inch mark was recorded on her second attempt. With the mark, she also placed fourth of 22 competitors in the event and was the top NCAA Division III finisher.
