Comets of the Week - April 28, 2025
The Female Comet of the Week is senior Emily Norkowski, of Fife Lake, and graduate of Forest Area High School. Norkowski captured the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) title in the heptathlon at the multi-events competition. She finished first or second in five of the seven events, and totaled 3,976 points. Norkowski’s marks were 15.68 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, 4 feet and 11-1/2 inches in the high jump, 28 feet and 11 inches in the shot put, 27.26 seconds in the 200-meter dash, 15 and 7 inches in the long jump, 84 feet and 2 inches in the javelin and 2:41.05 in the 800-meter run.
The Male Comet of the Week is sophomore Kyle Redd, of Tekonsha, and graduate of Tekonsha High School. At the Concordia University-Ann Arbor Alumni Legacy Meet, Redd placed second in the 100-meter dash (11.32) and third in the 200-meter dash (22.19). The 200 time was a personal best by 0.33 seconds and moved him to No. 3 all-time in UOlivet history.
