Smith, who is the earning for the second time this winter, won the shot put with a school-record toss of 51 feet, 9-3/4 inches. The mark was achieved on his second of six tries.

"Each week she is becoming more confident and we are looking for her to continue her success in the next few years as she is only a sophomore. Jacob is more confident this year and it is showing when he is throwing shot put. " He has been making some big improvements and we are looking forward to seeing him continue his record breaking season."
