Eight UOlivet student-athletes selected to CSC Academic All-District® team
OLIVET, Mich. – Eight student-athletes from The University of Olivet have been named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® NCAA Division III Men's and Women's At-Large Teams. The honorees are men's golfer Mitchell Bair-Pollard, men's volleyball player Aiden Chamblee, wrestlers Ramiro Guerrero, Tyler Herrema, Benyamin Kamali and Kody Krupp, and women's golfers Rylee Honsowitz and Ella LaMothe.
To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a 3.50 or higher cumulative and meet participation requirements for their respective sport. The at-large program consists of sports, which do not have a standalone Academic All-America® team and the NCAA sponsors a championship in. For Olivet, these sports are men's golf, women's golf, men's volleyball and men's wrestling.
Bair-Pollard, a business administration major, played in 20 rounds during the 2024-25 season. He averaged 85.9 strokes and his low round of the year was a 77 at Kalamazoo Country Club on September 28, 2024.
Chamblee, a chemistry and mathematics double major, started in 21 of 23 matches in the 2025 season. He ranked second on the team with 132 kills and was third with 16 blocks. Chamblee's best match was 15 kills and 13 digs against Trine (Ind.) University on March 29, 2025.
Guerrero, Herrema, Kamali and Krupp led the wrestling team to the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship. The latter three earned All-MIAA honors and were chosen as National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-Americans. Herrema and Kamali competed at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships.
Guerrero, a psychology and criminal justice double major, finished the 2025 season with a 24-12 record. Eighteen of the wins scored bonus points, including six pins. Guerrero won the 157-pound title at the Muskegon Community College Ben McMullen Open, and placed second at the Trine (Ind.) University Invitational, third at the Ohio Northern University (ONU) Polar Bear Invitational and fifth at the NCAA Region V Tournament.
Herrema, an insurance and risk management major, ended his senior season with a 31-6 record, with 22 bonus-point victories. He had a 22-match winning streak, which was snapped in the championship match of the NCAA Region V Tournament. Herrema won the ONU Polar Bear Invitational with five bonus-point wins. Unseeded at the NCAA Division III Championships, he upset the No. 8 seed in the first round before bowing out of the tournament with two losses.
Kamali earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology in December 2024 and then enrolled in Olivet's MBA program. He posted a 30-4 record during the 2024-25 season. Twenty-four (24) of the wins tallied bonus points for the Comets. Kamali earned All-American honors after finishing seventh in the 125-pound bracket at the NCAA DIII Championships.
Krupp, a criminal justice with law enforcement major, started the 2024-25 season with a 4-5 record before finishing it with an 18-6 record to end his senior season at 22-11. He won the Trine Invitational and was second at the ONU Polar Bear Invitational. Krupp posted a 4-2 record to place fifth at the NCAA Region V Tournament. Three of the wins were technical falls and the fourth was a first-period pin.
Honsowitz, an insurance & risk management major, played in 13 rounds for the Comets. Six of the rounds were the four MIAA jamborees and two-round MIAA Spring Finale. Honsowitz totaled 1,180 strokes for a 90.8 average.
LaMothe, an environmental science major, was a part of the Olivet lineup in each of the 21 rounds played during the 2024-25 season. He recorded a team-low 83.4 stroke average. LaMothe shot a career-best 78 on March 29, 2025 at the Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Club.
Following a vetting process, Herrema and Kamali advance to the Academic All-America® At-Men's At-Large ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 9, 2025.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The Division III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division III Academic All-America® programs.
