UOlivet trio named to CSC Academic All-District® Swimming & Diving Team
OLIVET, Mich. – Three student-athletes from The University of Olivet men's and women's swimming & diving teams have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team. The honorees are senior Matthew Brown, and senior Kelsee Lawson and junior Sophia Spahr from the women's team.
To be selected to the Academic All-District® team, the player must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and must have competed in 75 percent of the team's competitions OR finish top eight at a conference meet OR participate in a national championship.
Brown, a business administration major, competed in freestyle events. He achieved season best times of :57.41 in the 100, 5:15.34 in the 500 and 18:09.27 in the 1,650 at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships. Brown is also member of the UOlivet clay target team.
Lawson, an accounting and financial planning major, swam every stroke during the season. At the MIAA Championships, she competed in the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. Lawson's season-best times included 2:17.59 in the 200 freestyle, 6:04.29 in the 500 freestyle, 1:13.13 in the 100 butterfly and 2:49.09 in the 200 IM.
Spahr, an exercise science major, participated in primarily freestyle and individual medley events. At the MIAA Championships, she swam in the 400 individual medley, 1650 freestyle and 200 backstroke. Spahr's season-best times include 19:43.49 in the 1650 freestyle, 2:20.52 in the 200 backstroke, 2:32.82 in the 200 IM and 5:15.94 in the 400 IM. She holds the ninth-best time in UOlivet history in the 400 IM at 5:02.10.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The Division III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division III Academic All-America® programs.
