Five teams receive MIAA team GPA award
Five Olivet College teams have received the 2011-12 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team GPA award. This award is presented to conference teams who achieve a 3.300 or better grade point average for the entire academic year.
OLIVET, Mich. -- Five Olivet College teams have received the 2011-12 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team GPA award. This award is presented to conference teams who achieve a 3.300 or better grade point average for the entire academic year.
Leading the way for the Comets was the women’s tennis team with a 3.747 GPA, which ranked first among all MIAA teams. Both cross country teams earned the honor, with the women posting a 3.451 GPA and the men posting a 3.338 GPA. The men’s track and field team had a 3.383 GPA, while the 2011 MIAA champion women’s golf team recorded a 3.358 GPA. The women’s golf team has earned the honor five straight years, while the women’s tennis team has earned the honor three of the last four years.
