Olivet College’s Langs earns MIAA Position Player of the Week honors, named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Beau Langs (Climax/Climax-Scotts) has earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Position Player of the Week honors for baseball. In addition, he was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Langs batted .750 (12-of-16), as the Comets won three games of a MIAA series against Albion College. He scored seven runs and drove in six more runs from his leadoff spot in the lineup. In a doubleheader sweep of the Britons April 14, Langs reached base safely in all eight of his plate appearances. In the first game, he was 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI. Langs is currently second in the MIAA with a .429 batting average and tied for the conference lead in hits with 21.

The Comets will host Aquinas College for a non-conference game tomorrow at 2 p.m. Olivet then plays a four-game MIAA series against Trine (Ind.) University Friday and Saturday. Friday's games are in Angola, while the series moves to Olivet for two games Saturday.
