UOlivet denied by Albion, 10-3

ALBION, Mich. – The University of Olivet baseball team lost 10-3 to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College today at Champions Stadium.
THE BASICS
- Final Score: Albion 10, Olivet 3

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- After a scoreless first three frames, the Britons dented the scoreboard with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Albion added another run in the fifth.
- The Comets cut their deficit in half with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning. Both runs scored because the Briton threw wild pitches with the bases loaded.
- Albion broke the game open with a six spot in its half of the seventh. Olivet closed the scoring in the ninth inning when sophomore Austin Alflen was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
FOR THE COMETS
- At the plate, Olivet had three hits. Junior Nick Stokan recorded the lone extra-base hit, a double. The other hits were singles by junior Nate Droste and sophomore Jack Friesen.
- On the mound, junior Bryan Carney suffered the loss. He allowed 10 runs (eight earned) on eight hits and three walks, while striking out seven over seven innings.

- Olivet looks to bounce back on Friday when it hosts Alma College for a nine-inning game at 4 p.m.
