Carney named to All-MIAA Baseball Second Team
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet junior Bryan Carney has been voted to the 2025 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Baseball Second Team. All-league honors are based on a player's performance during the 21-game MIAA schedule.
On the mound, Carney made starts against six of the seven league opponents and had a 3.08 ERA. He struck out 41 batters and walked 11 batters in 38 innings. Carney's best outing was a complete game, three-hit, 13 strikeout performance against Hope College. In four of the six starts, he allowed one or two earned runs.
"I am thrilled for Bryan earning All-MIAA honors this season," said Olivet head coach Santiago Mendez. "It is a testament to his hard work, consistency and leadership on and off the field Bryan is humble and a true competitor who always to get better."
For the entire season, Carney had three wins, while making eight appearances, including seven starts and throwing 44 and two-thirds innings. He led the pitching staff with a 2.82 ERA and 46 strikeouts, and batters had a .228 batting average against him. Carney will enter his senior season with 166 career strikeouts and needs only 51 to become the UOlivet all-time leader.
