Sudall named Director of esports at The University of Olivet
OLIVET, Mich. – Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ryan Shockey has appointed Ethan Sudall to the position of Director of esports at The University of Olivet.
"We are excited to have Ethan join The University of Olivet family," said Shockey. "Throughout the hiring process, it became clear that his vision and passion for esports will propel our program to the next level."
Sudall comes to UOlivet after serving as the assistant esports director at Siena Heights University. His duties included helping in the recruitment of student-athletes, overseeing arena operations and maintaining equipment, managing the program's budget, coordinating competitions and mentoring players in teamwork and academics.
Sudall graduated from Siena Heights with a bachelor's degree in environmental science. While there, he was a part of Saints' esports program. Sudall was selected to the All-Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) First Team and helped Siena Heights win the WHAC championship.
"I am very excited to be joining The University of Olivet athletics staff," said Sudall. "I am looking forward to help strengthen and grow the esports program in a meaningful way. I want to create a positive culture that students are proud to be a part of.
"My focus is on building a structure that supports the long-term goals of the university while also creating an environment where students can truly thrive. Over their four years in the program, I want our student-athletes to have supportive and competitive experience which helps them develop not only in their gameplay, but also their personal growth."
