Two football players named MIAA Player of the Week
Olivet College sophomore fullback Mick Faasen (Belding High School) has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week. Sophomore punter Dustin Thomas (Port Huron High School) has been selected as the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week.
Olivet College sophomore fullback Mick Faasen (Belding High School) has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week. Sophomore punter Dustin Thomas (Port Huron High School) has been selected as the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week.
Faasen and Thomas helped the Fighting Comets beat Ohio Wesleyan University, 21-0, last Saturday in Delaware, Ohio. Faasen had 18 carries for 164 yards and scored a touchdown. Thomas punted the ball four times for 165 yards, a 41.2-yard average.
This season, Faasen leads the team with 304 rushing yards in 46 attempts with two touchdowns.
The Comets (2-0) are idle until Saturday, Sept. 27 when they travel to play Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind. Game time is 2:30 p.m. EST
