Olivet College’s Clasgens named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week
Olivet College sophomore running back Pat Clasgens (Livonia/Stevenson) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for football.
Olivet College sophomore running back Pat Clasgens (Livonia/Stevenson) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for football. He helped the Comets (3-3, 3-0 MIAA) defeat Albion College, 24-6, Oct. 13, for the first time at home since 1975.
Clasgens carried the ball 23 times for a season-high 204 yards, a 8.9 average per carry. For the season, he has played in five games and leads the team with 67 carries for 430 yards and three touchdowns. Out of the backfield, Clasgens has also caught six passes for 38 yard, which gives him a team-high 468 all-purpose yards.
The Comets are back in action Saturday, Oct. 20, when they celebrate Homecoming by hosting the Tri-State (Ind.) University Thunder. Kickoff from the Cutler Athletic Complex is 2 p.m.
