Three football players earn 2009 All-MIAA honors
Three Olivet College football players have earned 2009 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honors. Senior punter Ryan Patten (Charlotte) is a first-team selection for the third consecutive year. Junior linebacker Chris Behnke (OIivet) and sophomore running back Mike Martin (Caledonia/Wayland Union) are second-team selections. All-league honors are based on the player’s statistics during the six-game league schedule.

Patten punted the ball 28 times and led the MIAA with a 38.7 average per kick. His longest punt was 59 yards, 13 landed inside the opponent's 20-yard line and four traveled more than 50 yards.
Behnke ranked among the league leaders in total tackles (54) and tackles for loss (six). He also had two quarterback sacks. Martin led the team and was third in the MIAA with 956 all-purpose yards. He carried the ball 65 times for 295 yards, caught 17 passes for 161 yards, returned five punts for 44 yards and returned 20 kickoffs for 456 yards.
