Bramer named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week

Olivet College junior Cam Bramer (Olivet) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Special Teams Player of the Week in football.

Bramer broke an Olivet record and tied an MIAA record with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Comets'42-17 loss against Trine (Ind.) University Oct. 17. The return broke the previous Olivet record of 95 yards by DeShaun Warren in 2006. It was the fourth 100-yard kickoff return in MIAA history and the first since 1985. For the game, Bramer had 125 yards on two returns. From his safety position on defense, he recorded five solo tackles.

For the season, Bramer has returned 15 kickoffs for 425 yards, a 28.3 average per return. Defensively, he has 30 total tackles, including 22 solo stops.

Olivet is back in action Saturday, Oct. 24, when it travels to play Alma College at 1 p.m.
