Roose named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College junior Samuel Roose has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Special Teams Player of the Week for football.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College junior Samuel Roose has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Special Teams Player of the Week for football.
The honor is for Roose's performance in the Comets' 33-10 victory over Alma College. He was a perfect 4-of-4 on point-after-touchdown (PAT) kicks and converted a 29-yard field goal. Roose also averaged 57.8 yards on six kickoffs. For the season, he has made 23-of-24 PAT kicks and 3-of-4 field goals for 32 points.
The Comets (4-0, 1-0 MIAA) host Trine (Ind.) University Saturday for its Homecoming contest. Kick-off at the Cutler Athletic Complex is scheduled for 2 p.m.
