Olivet College’s Williamson named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Olivet College senior Ricky Williamson has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Comets' 35-31 win over Franklin (Ind.) College.

Williamson was a disruptive force on the defensive line, as he finished the game with nine solo tackles. Of the nine stops, seven were for minus 25 yards. Two of the tackles for loss were quarterback sacks for negative 11 yards.

Olivet (1-0) is back in action Saturday when it hosts Eureka (Ill.) College. Kick-off from the Cutler Athletic Complex is 1 p.m.
