UOlivet football names team captains

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet head football team named the team captains for the 2025 season. They are quarterback Daniel Avila, offensive lineman Kyle Crusan, linebacker Christopher Pahman, defensive back Montreal Reid and defensive lineman Austin Straub.

Avila is in his first season at Olivet after transferring from Muskingum (Ohio) University. Crusan has been a part of the offensive line for the last two seasons and is expected to begin the 2025 season at the center position. Pahman is back for his final season at Olivet. Reid and Straub are in their third seasons. Last year, Reid played in every game and finished the year with 32 total tackles. Straub also played in every game and had 16 total tackles.

Under the leadership of first-year head coach Erik Ieuter, the Comets open the 2025 season Saturday at the University of Rochester (N.Y.). Kickoff from Edwin Fauver Stadium is 12 p.m. Olivet then plays three straight home games at the Cutler Athletic Complex. The first is September 13 against Madonna University at 1 p.m., followed by September 20 against Bluffton (Ohio) University at 12:30 p.m. and September 27 against Adrian College at 2 p.m. for Homecoming. Also on the schedule is a Thursday night (October 16) home game against Trine (Ind.) University at 7 p.m.
