Grant named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The University of Olivet senior quarterback Charlie Grant has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for football.
Grant recorded 410 yards and six touchdowns on 27-of-40 passing, as he led the Comets to a 47-44 win over Kalamazoo College. He also had four net rushing yards to give him 414 total offensive yards. Grant's touchdown passes went for 35, 39, 52, 18, 6 and 65 yards.
"Charlie did an outstanding job commanding the offense all day," said Olivet head coach Erik Ieuter. "He made a lot of big time throws and helped lead us to a huge conference win."
Grant's 410 passing yards and 414 total offensive yards are the second-most in UOlivet history for a single game. The six touchdown passes tie the single-game record.
The Comets have their bye this Saturday and are back on the field Thursday, October 16, when they host Trine (Ind.) University. Kick-off from the Cutler Athletic Complex is 7 p.m.
